Stories of Transformation
Every number represents a life changed. Here are some of those stories.
Restoring Green Cover
Through traditional, dense, and native-species plantation models, RADS has planted 50,000+ trees across Telangana. Community nurseries, SHG women, and youth volunteers participate in watering and maintenance drives โ building forests that grow with the community.
Lakes Back to Life
8+ urban and rural lakes have been rejuvenated through desilting, bund strengthening, and invasive plant removal. These restored water bodies improve local water tables, support biodiversity, and secure irrigation and drinking water for surrounding communities.
Eco Volunteering & Biodiversity
Through plog runs, seedball dispersal drives, and bird nest box installations, RADS has engaged 1,000+ eco-volunteers in active restoration. Over 10,000 seedballs have been made and dispersed, and hundreds of nest boxes installed across urban green spaces โ building biodiversity from the ground up.
Sustainable Agriculture & Water
RADS promoted a transition from Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to fully chemical-free Non-Pesticide Management (NPM) across operational villages. Combined with water conservation campaigns and lake rejuvenation, communities now farm sustainably and protect their natural water sources.
Women Elected to Panchayats
RADS's voter awareness campaigns resulted in far greater women's participation. Several women were elected to important positions at village, mandal, and district levels โ a historic achievement for the region.
Legal Empowerment
Women raised their voices in Panchayat meetings, asserting rights and demanding their due share. They now have access to legal counseling and immediately act on violence cases to seek justice.
Women in villages now question and demand in Grama Sabhas the budgets and resources of Panchayats.
RADS's Panchayat Raj project generated unprecedented grassroots accountability. 300 Dalit women became literate, engaged in governance, and transformed their communities from within.
